Bookkeeper

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Location: North Highlands, CA
Compensation: $28-$33/hr

Ledgent, a division of Roth Staffing Companies, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our client's team in North Highlands, CA. This on-site role is ideal for a well-rounded accounting professional who is confident handling daily bookkeeping operations, payroll, and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including posting, billing, collections, and vendor management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely general ledger records.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and assist with month-end close activities as needed.

Reconciliations

  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations monthly and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized supporting documentation and audit trails.

Payroll

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 35 employees, ensuring accuracy in timecards, deductions, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and support year-end W-2 or 1099 processes.

Systems & Software

  • Utilize QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop for daily accounting functions.
  • Use Microsoft Excel proficiently for reporting, data manipulation, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (QBO or Desktop) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and data filtering.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
